Valve announces change to consoles Posted by Viper - April 01, 2008 17:04 - 1119 Views This just came fresh into our news mailbox as it seems Valve has decided to Quit the PC gaming business and the Steam platform and move over to the Playstation 3 and Xbox360 only.
Gabe Newell: "After many months of having discussions with several console companies we decided to do a complete change in business as we believe in the fact that Sony's Playstation 3 aswell as Microsoft's Xbox360 are the way to go for gamers all over the world. Ofcourse we understand what this means for the current Steam gamers and we are going to offer a special bonus pack for those switching from Steam to one of the consoles. With this change coming up next month we hope to have a fresh start with Source engine games and we are sure our community will stay behind us like they always did. We will move over Counter-Strike: Source aswell as Day of Defeat: Source to make sure people are still able to play their favorite game." A bigger press release will follow shortly. At Steamfriends we don't know what to say about this but can only agree with Gabe's words. We thank you for all your support and hope to see you back on the PS3 or X360! -
