PS3 Firmware 2.30 and new store Posted by Viper - April 16, 2008 09:49 - 469 Views The new PS3 firmware is out and along with it, the rollout of the new PSN store. The new store looks great. According to Sony usability has been improved for a more enjoyable shopping experience. They also included DTS-HD MA and DTS-HD HR audio compatibility support.
Anyway, the new-look PS Store looks very good and it now has pretty audio cues for every “click”, including opening up the store! Browsing is a breeze; most pages take less than a second to load. In addition, many of the thumbnails aren’t displaying correctly at the moment; you’ll see numerous “missing image” placeholders instead. But again, the overall “shopping experience” is indeed more enjoyable — you’ll quickly find yourself wondering how you ever survived with the old store. ![]() Question is when we will see games like the Orange box in that store :P This should hopefully also speed up general mod support on the PS3. You can view a short video about the new store over here. -
