	#1 - Teddy - August 06, 2007 17:50 They should let all big gf card manufacturers include a similar protection into their hardware. But still, tweaking your card isn't really the cheater problem, it are 3rd party tools that allow on-screen radar etc. And Intel will only be able to deal with aimbots, as these automatically aim while the pc doesn't get such hardware input. Radar enhances the knowledge of the gamer, and there isn't any hardware which can determine how the user got this increased knowledge. From my experience finding auto-aimers/aimbotters/autotriggers isn't really the problem, it's finding those who use skinhacks and radars, and especially those who are able to use radar without obvious user reactions, such as pre-aiming or pre-firing before the opponent becomes visible.

Realism vs Arcade

	#1 - Rave of Ravendale - July 16, 2007 22:54 To be fair, I'm actually AGAINST realism, the problem being that realism is being linked more and more to how graphically advanced a game is. I hate it when people tell me that they'd rather get a PS3 or an X-Box over a Wii because 'the graphics are more real'. As you've said, Poxer, this DOESN'T make a better game - at least not for everyone.
	#2 - mftteazer - September 09, 2007 11:17 I enjoy realism, however, in a real life you don't just respawn in the middle of a random place, at least not that I ever saw. I think that advocates against realism are the same people saying that video games cause kids to go out and kill for... real.

I do agree many maps are underplayed as a result of this, with custom maps being affected the most. I think it should be pointed out that there are many people that dedicate themselves to other maps besides dust2 etc. as well as custom maps, and server owners are a part of this group of people. All in all, great rant.

	#1 - Sierra Oscar - July 12, 2007 19:21 Not going to happen in my opinion. With DX10 being one of the selling points of Vista? . . . And then you have to take the changes into account, it would take way too long to develop. The most XP will get is a new version of DX9.
	#2 - FlyingMongoose - July 12, 2007 20:00 However, don't forget to take into consideration the game developer influence over Microsoft (they have some, surprisingly). Windows XP users are still the largest market for game developers so it'd be a bad idea for most game developers to go to DX10 at the moment. And as such, MS will sell less Vista. Personally, I know Crysis will be able to run on DX9 I've already read about DX9 support for it and heard of it being confirmed. So, I have 0 reasons to go to vista just for dx10, also, I <3 ati, and ATI doesn't have a OMG WTF AWESOME DX10 card yet, but the "X2xxx" cards are gonna own.

When people heard that there would only be a few DX10 games in the first year after Vista's release they were shocked . . .but I just dont see why. DX 10 will come in over a period of time, and the same goes for Vista.
