SteamBans Oculus: Future Anti-Cheat
SteamBans.com, the well-known anti-cheat organization, has just announced a new and ground-breaking project. The development of a new revolutionary anti-cheat.

It's main feature goes by the name APRACS, short for Automated Pattern Recognition Anti-Cheat System and as the name suggests, detects cheat-patterns by analyzing gameplay.

Here is what the developers have to say:
"We are thrilled to welcome you all to the future of anti-cheat software. The name is Oculus. Gone are the old client / server based programs that easily can be surpassed. Gone is the cat and mouse chase between cheat and anti-cheat developers. What remains is a totally new and advanced approach that is best described in layman terms as an experienced, dedicated 24/7 computer admin."

Oculus AC is:

# Automated Pattern Recognition Anti-Cheat System (APRACS)
# Fully Serverside - No client
# Entirely heuristic - With weight on no false positives
# Cannot be bypassed like old client/server anti-cheats
# Reliable and accurate
# Detection of cheats not even known at time of development

It probably reminds some of you of HackCam, a similar concept anti-cheat which never saw the daylight - knowing SteamBans and it's long tradition of developing anti-cheat tools this will be deemed another destiny than HC.

It will most-likely take a while before this conceptual anti-cheat sees the daylight, but progress is steady, more information and demonstrations will be available soon - and feedback is always so welcome.
