Publisher 2K Games brings word of a patch for one of the most anticipated games of the year and winner of a Bafta award, BioShock!

BioShock, which got released in August, unfortunately didn't come without facing some bugs on the road. There were bugs with widescreen,
which they started working on in the form of a patch that is now soon to be released.
Then there were the problems with SecuROM, PC activation problems. Something
they did try to fix as soon as possible by raising the maximum amount of
computers a user can have BioShock installed on simultaneously.
There was
one more thing some people found out the hard way. Which was when they thought
their gaming rig was still up-to-date to handle such a magnificent and
graphically astonishing game, it just didn’t want to play at all.

Some of those problems should become something of the past with a patch to be released next week.

Elizabeth Tobey from 2K Games says: "Many of you have been asking me about the status of the BioShock PC
Patch and Xbox 360 Title Update, and I have some good news for you.

Both the BioShock PC Patch and the 360 Title Update will be
available next week. In addition to these fixes, we will be releasing
downloadable content free on both Xbox Live and for the PC, with the
DLC bundled into the PC Patch. A full list of bug fixes and everything
included in the DLC will be put up on the Cult of Rapture when the
downloads become available."

Steam Users can expect their updates to be done automatically. Concerning this "free content" it is not only vague what there is to be expected, but also how this will become available via Steam. Shacknews does appear to have spoken with Elizabeth Tobey and shares the news that it will include extra plasmids for players to mess around with, a way to disable Vita-Chambers for hardcore play.
