With Grand Theft Auto 4 recently released on Steam, it is now rumoured that GTA5 will be hitting our screens much earlier than anyone could have anticipated.

According to the 'Loose Talk' section in the latest issue of Game Informer, Rockstar North are well into work on the 5th installment:

Could the sequel to GTA4 be on the cards very soon?

"We're not talking about new DLC or a collection of previously available DLC, we're talking about a full retail game. We expect this title to follow the suit of previous GTAs and use a subtitle such as GTA: San Andreas, etc. Tokyo might be a possible setting for the game, but details are non-existent at this time."

Considering that GTA: Vice City was released just a year after its predecessor GTA3, this news may not be so unbelieveable...
