Rockstar have told gaming site Kotaku that there is "no truth" whatsoever behind the GTA5 2009 release rumour.
While there was a rumour going around at the start of the week concerning the possible release of the next in the Grand Theft Auto series, Rockstar have no confirmed that it's completely untrue.
The rumours suggesting that number 5 will be set in Tokyo, however, have not been answered, meaning there could still be a possibility.
It would also appear that GTA5 will not be coming for a very long time, as Rockstar vice president Dan Houser suggested that they are now turning their attention to a series of DLC episodes for the latest in the series. He told USA Today "We feel like we've only scratched the surface in terms of the depth and detail of Liberty City". It would appear that, depending on how well the episodes go down with gamers, we could well be seeing much more of Liberty City before a whole new game is rolled out.'The Lost and the Damned', the first DLC for GTA4 is to be released on February 9 on Xbox 360, although there is no news on a release for Steam as of yet. The second episode, still unnamed, will apparently be available before Halloween this year.
